Best Budget Food City – George Town, Malaysia
The Best Budget Food City: George Town, Malaysia
“Remember that time we went to George Town, Malaysia? Remember how great it was. With all the hawker stands selling cheap and delicious food. Remember how good that roasted pork was? Do you remember? Huh? Huh?!”
Yes, stomach, I remember.
It WAS good. In fact, it may just be the best budget food city we’ve ever been to. Chinese, Malay, and Indian food made with an assortment of delicious ingredients. I remember going into Kedai Kopis and perusing the stands. “One please!”, “One please!”, “Oh, two please!” and then sitting at a table and waiting for our feast. Penang is a food lover’s paradise.

In Penang, what exactly do you mean when referring to “China Town”? Surely, everything you ate on this video was Chinese! You didn’t mention the name of the dim sum place. Can you remember the name or street address.
Essentially, everywhere that isn’t Little India and not a mosque is China Town in Penang!
I have never heard of eating coconut jam dipped in egg, but each to his own taste. When I was young, we just ate it with bread. For mature tastes, it’s very, very sweet which is why usually children eat it!

It’s been a while but I remember that our tourist map had an area outlined that they called Chinatown.
I think there’s a difference between Chinese food and Malay food, and even a difference between the Chinese food in Malaysia and the Chinese food in China. The cooking techniques are the same, but in some dishes some of the ingredients have been altered.
The dim sum place was on Lebuh Campbell, down the street from the market. I can’t recall how far down, and there were actually 2 dim sum places we saw on that road, but it’s around there somewhere.
